BEACH O’ CLOCK
I Need Vitamin Sea.
Beach O’ Clock is a multi-volume book project that captures beach culture around the world.
The beach is a place where cultural differences are on display. Be it in the activities done at the beach or in the relationship of the individual with its body, between people of different genders, ages, races, and origins, going to the beach and being at the beach is a profound social act and is, as such, marked by one’s social environment. Therefore, it makes it a fascinating place to observe human interactions.
At the heart of the project is the tension between the structural unity of these photographs (accentuated by the omnipresence of the color blue and the horizon line) — and the diversity of situations.
The first volume is a photo book showcasing 215 photographs from the following series:
Beach O’ Clock in Istanbul, Turkey
Beach O’ Clock in Tel Aviv, Israel
Beach O’ Clock in Oceanside, Oregon, USA
Beach O’ Clock in Rio, Brazil
Beach O’ Clock in Santa Cruz, Portugal
